Stitch Fix Kids #1 (Girls)

I have tried Stitch Fix a few times for myself and have had mixed feelings about it. There were a few pieces from each box that I really loved, and a few that were either just ok or that I just did not like.  When I found out that they started a kids version, I debated about trying it, but with the 25% discount of keeping the whole box, I decided I would at least give it a shot- my kids could both use some new clothes since they are growing out of the last seasons, and I wanted to try something new.

The first kids box I got was for little K (3 years, and wears a 3T).  The styling profile was pretty quick and easy to fill out, other than I could.not.remember how many inches tall she was, so I had to dig up her last checkup notes to see.

Stitch Fix has lots of options to customize the box for each kid, including style looks they/you hate, are just ok, like, and styles you love. You also have the option to say colors, prints, styles you love and any to avoid.  They try to make it so you can choose exactly the kind of stuff you like, and you can leave your stylist a note of anything specific you may want or want to avoid for a box (e.g. school picture shirt, vacation clothes, more basics, specific style of something if its available, etc).

When we opened the box, everything was wrapped up nicely, and there was a note from the stylist, a page of stickers (which she immediately grabbed out), a page with a picture of every item included, and page with the cost breakdown of each item, including the discount from the styling fee and 25% discount if you keep the whole box.

This Odin & Ivy Long Sleeve Graphic Tee (a style designed exclusively by Stitch Fix) was the first thing she grabbed from the pile and put it on right away. The fit was great, the coloring is fun, and we love outdoorsy stuff. This top is a keeper.

The next things she tried on were the Nike Performance Tee and Nike Annabel Fleece Lined Legging.  They were both very soft and comfortable, but the cut was not my favorite around the neck on the shirt, the pants bunched around her legs too much for good play clothes, and she does not need any exercise clothes, so these are being returned.

Next she tried on these Studio V Jaynee Skinny Jean. We both loved these with the little unicorn ears on the knees, and they are comfortable and I love the color. These are going in the keep pile, and I know they will be worn regularly.

Next up was this adorable soft and stretchy Persaya Girl Laila Drop Waist Tee. It fit so well, and is a great every day shirt that is comfy and adorable, so this is going in the keep pile as well.

Up next was this adorable Joules Pixie Tee, that says “Riding with my Ponies” and is complete with these cute ponies playing with a sparkly bike, sparkle roller skates, sparkle scooter, and a sparkle skateboard and helmet.  Glitter cuteness. Paired with the Skinny jeans, I’m sure this shirt is also going to gets its wear.

Moon & Stars: Brenna Fleece Tie Back Dress.

I loved this dress. It was soft, easy to put on, the color is one of my favorites, the back design is adorable, and it is simple.  But it was just a little off in the front, and I couldn’t justify another dress that we both just did not love.

This soft, stretchy, Persaya Girl: Skyler Pocket Skater Dress is adorable. We both loved it and she really wanted to keep it, but she already has a nearly identical dress. If it was a different color, we would have kept it.

She also got another cute graphic tee, but we didn’t even try it on since we are not big fans of graphic tees.

Lastly, we pulled out these adorable sparkle TOMS Mary Jane Sneakers. They are cute and look comfy, and I’m a huge fan of TOMS, but she doesn’t need any more shoes right now (and I should have specified that), and they are a little more than what I like to spend on kids shoes, so these are going back.

Overall it was fun to see the different stuff they had picked out for her, and she loved almost everything in the box. Checkout was easy- just went to her page, clicked on the check out link right under the tracking link, selected what we wanted to keep and what we wanted to return, and that was that.  I put everything we want to send back in the prepaid package and we will send it out tomorrow.
